crazy wisdom

This is Scott hamming it up back home in High Point in front of his iMac built in camera. Just a typical morning where I would have just gotten up with a yawn but Scott would have already been up for hours playing. Always playing. Having fun. Entertaining himself and others. The chubby cheeks are gone but the Smile 2 the End is still very much present. Scott’s got a “long line” in now and the miracle was that Dr. Sanjiv (not to be confused with our friend Sanjiv) found a vein in his scrawny arm. This is allowing him to receive saline fluid as the ice chip routine was  not enough to keep him comfortably hydrated. So along with easier hydration comes easier pain management and even some vitamins and nutritional supplements. It may allow him to get some more paintings done and that would be a really really good day.

Scott’s friend Don B sent in this quote from Tom Robbins to me today and we both agree that it describes Scott and his poscottivity. I hope Tom Robbins doesn’t mind that I share with you all here:

Crazy wisdom is of course the opposite of conventional wisdom, It is wisdom that deliberately swims against the current in order to avoid being swept along in the numbing wake of bourgeois compromise, wisdom that flouts taboos in order to undermine their power; wisdom that evolves when one, while refusing to avert one’s gaze from the sorrows and injustices of the world insists on joy in spite of everything; wisdom that embraces risk and eschews security,  wisdom that turns the tables on neurosis by lampooning it, the wisdom of those who neither seek authority nor willingly submit to it.

  1. Thanks for continuing to share your saga, Katy. I was up on the island last week, drove by “Art by Katy” with my sis in law, Katy. I told her about your big Smile to the End adventure and she sends a hug to you too.
