As you know from my first Nepenthe painting, the title means “a place to leave ones sorrows”.  This year is nearly over. For me this is a time for retreat, reflection, and reveling inside the cloak of winter’s darkened days. The sun is setting on…2016.
Happy New Year!

  1. Dear Katy…..I hope this finds you doing well….or as well as circumstances allow. I think of Scott often….I also think of the courage that you showed in following his dream/desire to go to India for an undetermined period of time. It was a hugely courageous move and an extremely loving one. Scott and Katy showed a passion for life that few of us can imagine pursuing. Please know that what you did was an exceptional expression of love. I hope you have a lovely, peaceful Holiday Season and that it is surrounded by family and friends. Be well, Andy

    • Hello Andy,
Thank you for sharing such lovely thoughts. It’s hard to believe it was 4 years ago that Scott and I got the news and embarked on that last wild adventure together. We were so fortunate to be able to fulfill that last dream of his. I’ve finally reached a place of peace. It’s kind of you to think about me.
All my best to you in the new year,
      Katy

  2. Katy,
As always, your art communicates peace, love, emotion and beauty all in one. Your words are art in the same way… Sending you warm wishes from my heart to yours and wishing you a gentler 2017. I hope we meet up one of these days soon – on one coast or the other! Hard to believe I have been to most of the states but never Maine. It is on my bucket list:) xo el

Thank you for your kind words about my words and my art.
Getting my creative mojo back has taken longer than I thought
but I’m getting there! Happy New Year,
