it’s a wild, wild life

I highly recommend FM Brown’s Birdlovers No Waste Blend 40% Peanuts & Sunflower Hearts for attracting songbirds, cardinals, woodpeckers, and doves. I fill my birdfeeder with it but additionally cast it along the flat rail of my deck banisters for a bird buffet. Little did I know–until this morning–that it would attract the attention of a raccoon. She is leisurely draped over the banister cherry-picking the nuts and leaving the seed for the birds.

Watch out, little bandit: there are great Barred Owls nesting nearby. The owls were also out this morning gossiping about your thievery (perhaps contemplating your nutrition value for their soon-to-hatch owlets?).

From Ted Andrews Animal Speak : If raccoon comes to you, you may be being asked to let go of a situation, person, belief or habit. Reversely, the message may be for you to receive the gifts being offered to you by the Universe.

  1. Love the early morning visits, the serenade of the birds from 3 am on through the first break of day light, we are lucky to be able to experience nature first hand undisturbed by the busy motion of the day brought on by humans…Messages are received when you recognize who is bringing them to you and ultimately who sent them:)
