Do caterpillars poop? You bet your frass they do! Today I noticed several pellets by my Monarch caterpillars and decided to google it. Caterpillar poop is singularly known as frass.
My five Monarch siblings have opened their own tiny-green-pellet factory on my milkweed plant.
They are beginning to consume the showy blossoms in addition to the leaves that are disappearing, one by one.

Hi Abhijith-ji,
I’m inspired by the natural beauty all around me, especially in my garden. Monarch butterflies are particularly beautiful and its been reported that their population is dwindling. For many years we’ve seen less and less of them here in Maine. I was very happy to find 5 Monarch butterfly caterpillars munching away at my milkweed this year for the first time ever. I’m observing them carefully and today’s post reflects that fascination. If you search “butterflies” in my blog, you’ll discover why butterflies are so meaningful to me now.
Thanks for checking out my blog!
Namaste,
Katy

You need only read my “Going To Goa Blog” to find the answer to that question. Why we went, what we did there, what happened. Etc.
Cheers!
