How does one get a buggy onto a big truck? If you are installation artist Peter Beerits of Nervous Nellies Jams and Jellies you have a big rig & a crane. This antique was already crumbling to dust and one more Maine winter outside without the shelter of a barn would have finished the job. What made this one interesting to Peter was that it has a metal spring system uncommon for the period. He’ll dissemble this and repurpose it into one of his fantastic whimsical sculptures. Scott loved Peter and his vision. In fact many of the ideas that Scott came up with for our home were inspired by Peter’s work and the found-object esthetic. I’m sure Scott’d be happy to know a little piece of his yard collection will now be incorporated into Nellieville. I can’t wait to see what Peter does with it!
