Scott would get a kick out of this: Call me crazy but what do the two bars at the end of this graph resemble? They represent the amount of viewer hits this blog received on 9/11 and the next day. Until this year “9/11” has had a…

SCOTT DAVID MORGAN
February 16, 1951 – September 11, 2013
The weather in Goa is overcast with rain expected and there is a wind. Looking out from Scott’s room one can imagine there might be a slight fall chill in the air, too. It feels unusual. And so, it is. Today is Nurse Afsal’s 24th birthday. We wanted to do something special to mark the […]
Ganeshe’s birthday is a big deal in India. Although Goa has a predominantly Catholic population there are enough Hindus here to make the Ganeshe Chathurthi a hugely important holiday. Panjim is a ghost town today with all of the shops closed. When I went to grab my coffee this morning I was greeted warmly by […]
Scott’s good friend Sanjiv arrived in Goa last night for another visit. His jovial presence always puts a smile on Scott’s face and this time is no exception. So much of our predicament has been hard. Not just hard in the sense of being emotionally hard to deal with….but, hard. The pitted country roads in upper Morjim, northern Goa? Hard. The pieces of grit and once even a pebble discovered in mouth while chewing food? Hard. The rough terry towels all the tougher from […]
This week marks 2 religious holidays for us here in Goa. Roshoshana, the Jewish New Year, and Ganeshe Chaturthi, the 5 day festival celebrating Hindu religion’s Lord Ganeshe’s birthday. Preparations are already underway in Panjim for the festivities. Furniture vendors are set up for a mile along the park side walk with makeshift tarp tents. […]
