It’s 11PM Saturday night and normally there’d be 50,000 people hanging out at the Gate of India and the boats and shops on the waterfront across from the Taj Palace Hotel. We just looked out the window from top of the tower and everything including lights and street traffic is empty and shut down because that man Bal Thackery passed away earlier today. There is concern that we will need to leave for the airport super early or our flight might get cancelled. We are scheduled to leave on a 5PM flight to Goa. We were going to go to art museum tomorrow morning but it won’t be open due to the political situation. I’m happy to catch up on some sleep. Our hero is in his new friend’s suite (420) lighting one up and telling stories 😉
