I pulled into my driveway after a hike with my dog. For a minute or two I sat there as I pondered the enormity of a particular problem I’m dealing with today. “What do you think I should do, Scott?”, I realized I had said this out loud. No sooner said than something caught my eye.
A teeny tiny bird had landed on the outside of my rolled up car window. It looked in at me and tapped on the glass.
Then it hopped up onto the mirror. Then back down to the window. Unafraid.
And several times it tried to see itself in my mirror. Fluttering like a hummingbird directly in front of it. I pulled my iPhone out and took these shots.
I am here with you.
I hear you.
I see you.
I see myself in your reflection.
Nobody has died.
You know we can fly.
Fly.
That’s beautiful. thank you.
