It’s my great pleasure to announce that the official legacy art site showcasing Scott Morgan as the visionary outsider artist he was is now up and running! It may not yet show up in Google search, so please click http://scottmorganarts.com to go directly to the official site, designed by Maureen Farr|Mozelle Studio. You may recall that our friend Maureen graciously took in our dogs Loolie & Hershey for the first 5 months of our trip to India. Who better than Maureen to understand the mission and translate Scott’s vibrant art work into a beautiful website for me, right?
The site showcases 120 of the 200 watercolors that Scott completed from his wheelchair and bed during his final year in Goa. In future, the site will be expanded into an ambitious archive of Scott’s work from 4 decades of painting. More immediately, I’m working on a revised edition of Going to Goa: The Paintings of Scott Morgan, and, the as-yet-untitled memoir documenting our final adventure together in India. In the coming weeks and months, both will be available for sale on the site along with digital eBook versions. Stay tuned!
Meanwhile, here’s what you can find available for purchase at the site’s shop now:
During the final months of his illness, Scott Morgan hand selected a collection of 30 of his favorite watercolor paintings to be enlarged, printed, and framed for his Smile2TheEnd exhibition that traveled to three hospital galleries in Goa, India in 2013. This exclusive print edition was limited to 6 pieces of each painting and will never be reproduced again in this format. The exhibition set was donated to Dr. Ravindra Agrawal’s nonprofit foundation in Goa. The remaining unframed inventory of giclee prints is being offered here for the first time as the Smile2TheEndCollection.
Scott completed this project in the final three months of his life while confined to bed and did not have the energy required to sign and number the giclées. Scott Morgan Arts includes a Certificate of Authenticity with each giclée verifying these prints are from the original project batch reproduced in India for the Smile2TheEnd exhibition.
Our special introductory price on the Smile2TheEnd Giclee Collection includes tax & shipping to USA only. (If you reside outside the USA we can happily accommodate you with additional shipping charges added paid by the buyer, please contact info@scottmorganarts.com).
Another feature we are proud to announce is the Scott Morgan Design Scholarship portal included on the legacy site. Award recipients for 2019 will be announced very soon by the Board of Directors and Pratt Institute. I can’t wait to find out who they are!
If you’re so inclined, please FOLLOW at facebook and instagram and twitter and tumblr where you’ll see Scott’s self portrait icon (photo below) and know you’ve reached his OFFICIAL social media accounts. Namaste, Katy
